| Steven J. Thorburn, PE, a principal at Thorburn Associates Inc. (TA), a full service acoustical consulting and audiovisual system design firm, has been elected President of the International Communications Industry Association’s (ICIA’s) Design Consultants Council (DCC).
Mr. Thorburn was one of the founding members of the DCC and has been active in the communications industry for over 15 years. Two of his designs have received awards from the ICIA: Systems and Facilities Design Award, First Place, 1991, CSA Audiovisual Presentation Studio; and Systems and Facilities Design Award, 1990, City of Fremont Council Chambers Audiovisual Upgrade.
In 1994, DCC members were responsible for designing systems with an estimated installed value of over $50 million dollars.
