Thorburn Associates Boosts Staff While Adding New Projects

| The principals at Thorburn Associates are proud to announce the addition of Daniel A. Abrams as a Consultant with the engineering staff. Mr. Abrams recently relocated to the S.F. Bay Area from Los Angeles, where he held a position in the engineering department at a professional loudspeaker manufacturing company. His other previous engineering experience includes work in regional theatres, recording studios, sound reinforcement, live music, and an experimental MIDI ensemble. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Mr. Abrams' diverse background will add to the acoustical and technical system expertise that Thorburn Associates is known for.
The firm would also like to announce the promotion of Andrew McNutt to Marketing and Media Relations. This promotion comes six months after his joining Thorburn Associates' marketing department. Prior to joining the firm he held positions providing input to an internet software development company and feature writing for a Bay Area newspaper.
Thorburn Associates has taken on several new projects to keep the increased staff busy. These projects include: the large format theatre for the Ontario Mills Mall in San Bernardino County, the Minnesota Zoo IMAX 3-D Theatre, UC Davis' Walker Hall (Anshen + Allen, architects), El Cerrito Fire Station #72 (Hardison Komatsu Ivelitch & Tucker, architects), the College of San Mateo's Choral Room (Kaplan/McLaughlin/Diaz, architects), the Riverside County Courthouse (The Steinberg Group, architect), the International Hotel (Gordon H. Chong & Partners, architect), Veriphone corporate offices (DES Architects), and the First Unitarian Church in San Jose (RMW Architecture + Design, architects). |
