Design and construction supervision for a multi-media conference room. Responsible for the coordination and integration of the audiovisual conferencing system as part of a design-build team. System includes slide-to-video conversion, video tape and computer graphics display, as well as traditional optical overhead, all tied together with an audio reproduction system.

Alta Bates Medical Center - Conference and Education Center, Berkeley, CA

Developed A/V programming document for the proposed conference/training facility. The building would have 2 large divisible conference rooms and 4 smaller separate conference rooms. The 6 video monitors in the divisible rooms would be linked together to display the image from one VCR. This system would include an audio archive, microphone mixing, and speech reinforcement that can be routed within the room as the room combination changes.

Design recommendations were also provided for 9 additional smaller conference rooms.

ICIA - Academy, Fairfax, VA

International Communications Industries Association

A/V design and engineering for a state-of-the-art teaching facility created solely for the purpose of training those within the A/V design industry. The Academy contains a presentation room, projector laboratory, computer laboratory, and technical application area. Video capabilities include: dual rear projection; video conferencing; distance learning; motorized front projection screens; a document camera; and VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and DSS sources. The 5-channel surround audio system has distributed overhead speakers, audio conferencing, speech reinforcement, CD and cassette sources. The entire system has inputs for 6 computers and is remote controlled by either a touch panel or a wireless 'executive' control. TA provided frequent site visits during installation and a final testing and adjustment of the complex system.

Sound system redesign for the Serra Ballroom and Steinbeck Forum. In the divisible 19,600 square foot ballroom, improved functions allow the east and west room sound systems to be combined, with a new stage monitor system and digital signal processing. The system for the forum, a 500-seat lecture hall/theatre arrangement, incorporated existing equipment with new components.

PG&E Headquarters - Auditorium and Conference Rooms A&B, San Francisco, CA

Audiovisual design during the remodel of 2 main rooms located in an historic terra cotta high-rise. In the Auditorium (with raked seating for 500), a ceiling-mounted projector displays computer graphics and video, supported by a distributed sound system and an ADA hearing assistance system. Control systems include a touch panel on the podium, a wireless A/V panel, and remote lighting control. Inputs for a satellite feed allow the corporate television division to use this facility as a remote site for corporate activities. The second room, a divisible Conference Center (with multiple seating arrangements for 120), has front and rear projection which both utilize a glass presentation wall. A mirror system in the rear projection room compensates for limited space. The sound system uses wireless microphones and split audio for more effective control of speech and program signals. Audio inputs were added for panel discussions and roundtable meetings.

System designs include 90" diagonal rear projection for VCR and computer graphics, laptop compatibility, teleconferencing, 72" front projection for slides and overhead, future HDTV adaptation, a hearing assistance system, and a remote control.

The audiovisual system design for this video conferencing facility needed to be simple to operate while still being able to function and expand as the Conference Center activities grow and evolve. Key concerns included eliminating delay, maintaining existing investment in equipment, ease of use, and providing access for 40+ participants. System components include overhead and computer graphics, slide display, and video tape recording of the meetings.

The conference/training room is used for bank personnel education seminars, loan committee reviews, teleconferencing and group presentations. The board room is used for small to medium size meetings and presentations, plus teleconferencing. The audiovisual systems are remotely controlled and have ceiling mounted projectors, speech reinforcement, computer inputs, and lighting control.

The secondary function of this facility is to provide a fully operational system for testing and evaluating the integration of the new hardware and software components of the Newsroom system.

Designed for an audience of 30 people, the system includes teleconferencing, audio reinforcement for CD, VHS, and computer sources, an ADA hearing assistance system, LCD and overhead projection of VHS and computer images on a 6'x8' screen, and an electronic white board.

U.S. Bureau of Reclamation - EOC/MP 400 Conference Room, Sacramento, CA

Created audiovisual programs for two separate areas, the MP 400 Conference Room and the EOC Conference Area. The MP 400 will be used by several departments for training sessions, presentations, workshops and conference calls. The EOC is alternately used for team meetings, dam operators training, and orientations.

Acoustical criteria and audiovisual system design for a 30+ attorney law firm located in a 2-story, 23,500 square foot building. A/V program requirements for the 4 conference rooms included video and computer graphic display, teleconferencing, and provisions for future videoconferencing. Also provided acoustical consulting and audiovisual system programming for an expansion law office. A video conferencing design was created for the large conference room, with other systems included in associated smaller conference rooms.

VeriFone - Briefing Center, Santa Clara, CA

Design of an audiovisual system program for a room used for product training and lectures. Teleconferencing is built into the speech reinforcement system, which also supports computer audio and CDs. A ceiling-mounted LCD projector displays VHS and computer inputs onto a 60"x80" screen. A document camera will record certain activities.

Acoustical and audiovisual system design for a 2-story attorney office with 300+ attorneys and their support staff. A/V systems for the main conference room include video and computer graphic projection, teleconferencing, and slide and document conversion to video signal for projection. The training facility includes a ceiling-mounted video projector which displays slides, video tape, and computer graphics. Three conference rooms have built in teleconferencing systems, the remaining conference rooms have tabletop teleconferencing.
