The Academy contains a presentation room, projector laboratory, computer laboratory, and technical application area. Video capabilities include: dual rear projection; video conferencing; distance learning; motorized front projection screens; a document camera; and VHS, Laserdisc, DVD and DSS sources. The 5-channel surround audio system has distributed overhead speakers, audio conferencing, speech reinforcement, CD and cassette sources. The entire system has inputs for 6 computers and is remote controlled by either a touch panel or a wireless 'executive' control. TA provided frequent site visits during installation and a final testing and adjustment of the complex system. |

Audiovisual design during the remodel of 2 main rooms located in an historic terra cotta high-rise. In the Auditorium (with raked seating for 500), a ceiling-mounted projector displays computer graphics and video, supported by a distributed sound system and an ADA hearing assistance system. Control systems include a touch panel on the podium, a wireless A/V panel, and remote lighting control. Inputs for a satellite feed allow the corporate television division to use this facility as a remote site for corporate activities. The second room, a divisible Conference Center (with multiple seating arrangements for 120), has front and rear projection which both utilize a glass presentation wall. A mirror system in the rear projection room compensates for limited space. The sound system uses wireless microphones and split audio for more effective control of speech and program signals. Audio inputs were added for panel discussions and roundtable meetings. |
