UC Santa Cruz - Experimental Psychology Lab, Santa Cruz, CA

Acoustical measurements and determinations to maximize sound isolation for the booths in the Experimental Psychology Lab. The booths, used for testing human perception, need to be as isolated as possible from adjacent booths and the hallway. Solutions focused on HVAC noise control and wall insulations.

University of Oklahoma - Biomedical Research Center, Tulsa, OK

Designed wall angles to reduce echoes within the Seminar room. Recommended wall finish materials and mechanical noise isolation techniques for conference rooms and offices in the Health Sciences building. Measurements to verify that emergency power generator complied with city noise ordinances. Recommendations were made to help lessen the transfer of noise between the generator and interior areas.

Design of acoustical enclosures for an abrasive sandblasting/polishing system and ultrasonic bath located in a manufacturing laboratory adjacent to an open plan office area.

Design of a new 2-story, 36,000 square foot research laboratory which contains offices, conference rooms, and research facilities. Project included controlling exhaust fan noise and ensuring conversation privacy between seminar, board, and conference rooms.

Reviewed existing sound isolation for conference room and provided recommendations to improve speech privacy.
