Designed loudspeaker placement and subtle room finish details to improve acoustics in a 2,400 square foot historic courtroom and law library with seating for over 300 people. The main goal of the renovation was to improve the acoustics without significantly altering the original appearance of the courtroom.

Room acoustics and HVAC noise and vibration control, including reference areas, office and a community room. Environmental noise control was an issue because this new library is located adjacent to the Southern Pacific railroad.

Sun Microsystems MTV-6, Mountain View, CA

HED Architects, Inc

MTV-6 presented the unique challenge of combining a training center, library, and fitness center within an existing 40,000 sq. ft. building shell. The approximately 20 training rooms were designed to accommodate from 8 to over 400 participants in the fully automated audiovisual facilities. Learning centers are linked via satellite to Stanford University while the suite of 3 videoconferencing rooms are tied to Sun's other facilities.

PG&E Learning Center, San Ramon, CA

MBT Architecture

The Learning Center is a $20 million, 140,000 square foot training facility. Services provided included sound isolation recommendations for 50 residential rooms, offices, classrooms, the library, a dining area, and a multi-purpose auditorium. HVAC noise control was required for the cooling tower near residential units.
