Great Mall of the Bay Area, Milpitas, CA

 

Detailed review of the mall's audio and paging system. Recommended changes in loudspeaker placement and programming adjustments to enhance intelligibility. Our recommendations are being phased in as funding allows. At the present time, only 1 zone has been modified.

Themepark Expansion (name confidential until opening), Florida

 

Sound system and paging system design for a new expansion onto an existing themepark.

Gateway Arch, St. Louis, MO

Bi-State Development Agency

Audio system design for the tram cars, queue lines, and upper/lower load areas within the Arch. The goal of the new system is to upgrade the guest experience while developing methods for cross-selling the different activities at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. Additionally provided acoustical recommendations for the lower load area.

Warner Brothers Western Stunt Show Amphitheater, Gurnee, Il

Six Flags Great America

Audio system evaluation for a 2500-seat outdoor theatre. To maximize the intelligibility of the audio system, adjustments and further recommendations were given.

Suisun City Plaza and Promenade, Suisun City, CA

City of Suisun Planning Department

Sound system design for 74,000 square feet which includes a portable music system for the raised stage area, distributed audio in the plaza, and background audio along the promenade using imitation rock speakers to blend in with the other rocks on the waterfront.

iWERKS Coca-Cola Freedom Pavilion, Tokyo, Japan

iWERKS Entertainment

Loudspeaker layout and design for separate zones within a pavilion. Work included the selection and location of loudspeakers for the queue area, the pre-show area (5-channel surround "Cinema System"), the load area (multi-channel system with effects and video support) and the exit area.

CSU Fresno - Bookstore/Student Union, Fresno, CA

David Bartlett Associates

Developed acoustical details for 42,000 square feet in dining area, bookstore, and student union. Services included sound isolation between the kitchen and cafeteria, audiovisual system upgrade, HVAC system noise control, sound masking system design, and room acoustics for the multi-story building.

Coca-Cola Olympic City, Atlanta, GA

Design and Production, Inc.

Acoustical consulting and sound system design for the interactive sports tent containing various exhibits and games featuring Olympic athletes. Also optimized the loudspeaker design and placement so the sound system would localize athletes' voices at game sites while using event noises to simulate the ambiance of a stadium crowd.

Harveys Casino, South Lake Tahoe, NV

Harvey's Resort Hotel/Casino

Developed an audio system master plan including a review of the existing system, detailed requirements for the new audio system, creating the audio control system, and making recommendations for the most cost effective sequencing. This casino remained open and operated throughout all phases of the project.

Kanesville Queen Riverboat Casino, Council Bluffs, IA

Harvey's Resort Hotel/Casino

Audio system master plan and design for a 270-foot long riverboat casino which holds 1,700 guests. Developed concepts for cross selling, ambient volume control, control zones, paging requirements, and background music. The system is integrated into three gaming decks containing over 1,200 gaming stations and covering 26,000+ square feet. The 345 loudspeakers broadcast at different volume levels depending upon the noise level in each particular zone.

Studied existing PA system in a Bay Area Rapid Transit station to determine ways to make the audio more intelligible.

Hewlett Packard - PTP Campus, Sunnyvale, CA

Designed upgrade for the PTP Campus' facility-wide paging system. Before the upgrade, the system had been malfunctioning. Our engineers reconfigured the zoning areas, created bid documents, and performed final acceptance testing.

Sound masking and Public Address system designs for a 104,000 square foot combination office/ manufacturing facility.

Asian Art Museum, San Francisco, CA

Our current work for this 140,000 square foot historical building encompasses the acoustic design (room acoustics, sound isolation, and HVAC noise conrol), developing audiovisual systems for the Gallery, Educational/Classroom and Conference Rooms, and audio/paging system designs for the guest and retail areas. Slated to open in the year 2000, the museum expects over 450,000 visitors per year.

Responsible for the design of an audio system which needed to be integrated into the museum's architecture in order to function in a highly reverberant space. The system provides reinforcement for lectures, parties, and other social events held at the museum.

Developed loudspeaker mounting and aiming directions for a 60'x80' flat screen 2-D/3-D 15/70 theatre in the Ontario Mills Mall. The 28,700 watt digital surround sound system uses 32 speakers divided into 7 clusters.

Provided PA/music system guidelines for a 300 member church. The system uses a distributed loudspeaker system with volume controls for different areas, as well as suspended mics for the choir and a MIDI mixing board.

Design of an A/V system to be placed in the 800-seat main hall for use during services.The system will use a loudspeaker arrangement and large screens placed on either side of the alter.

First Unitarian Church, San Jose, CA

Sound system design for a church with a musical congregation. The sanctuary audio system can handle concerts, theatre, or community events and is often used for language translation during services. To ensure the clarity of the audio, acoustical finish materials were selected for the wall and balcony areas.
