This 600 seat theatre features a 12,000 watt sound system and a 6-story tall screen--the largest in Minnesota. Our services included studying environmental noise levels, HVAC noise control and sound isolation details, theatre acoustic design, and construction administration.

Children's Museum of Indianapolis - iWERKS CineDome, Indianapolis, IN

Design of a 7 channel cinema audio system including the loudspeaker layout. Also designed a background music/paging system for the theatre queue area. Provided an acoustics review and IMAX performance testing of the theatre which seats 310 people. The CineDome is the United States' first iWERKS domed 15/70 theatre.

IMAX performance testing of an iWERKS Omnivision 8/70 domed theatre/planetarium. To bring the theatre up to performance standards, recommendations were made for improving the sound isolation of the projection booth.

Orlando Science Center - iWERKS CineDome, Orlando, FL

For this 15/70 dome theatre which seats 310 people, we designed the 28,000 watt digital audio system and the loudspeaker layout pattern for the 30 speakers which are grouped into 7 clusters. The Dr. Phillips CineDome is also used as a planetarium (with live video feed from the on-site observatory telescope) and for laser light shows.

Center for Science and Environmental Education, Oakland, CA

Christopherson & Graff Architects

Acoustical design and audiovisual system programming for a new 17,500 square foot facility at the Oakland Zoo. The building includes classrooms, a 145 seat auditorium, a 40 seat surround-sound theatre, rotating exhibits in the lobby/discovery area, and a conference center used for scientific or educational presentations.

Redesign of a 3-D theatre's side surround loudspeaker system so that loudspeakers can be wall-mounted at a considerable distance from the audience instead of being suspended over them. Also designed a speech reinforcement system to allow the 452 seat theatre to be used for panel discussions.
